Days in the Twilight.

"I still haven't gotten used to using the corridor" he said sighing lightly "and I ended up here, but it's still good to see you.". Laughing lightly he took a gaze around the room. "So what're you doing here?.. It's awfully dead here" he questioned, giving a quick look towards Elfie. Through the corner of his left eye, he kept a stern look on door, though not bothering to tell her he might've been followed.

Liam heard someone's soft footsteps down in the foyer below: he tightened his grip on the Struggle bat and shuffled towards the railing, keeping low as he went to see what it was moving. He cocked his head to the side when he thought he saw a tail swishing. Realization of whose tail it belonged to crept up on him, and Liam set his jaw as he looked down the landing towards the door that was left ajar: he could barely hear a small conversation going on in the room.
At least it's not some animal sneaking around.
He peered back down into the foyer as Moo was coming towards the staircase.
Oh. Right.
Shrugging off the thought, as quietly as Liam could manage, he slowly stood up to make himself known to the kid by waving his arm in the air, propping the Struggle bat against the wall to make the 'Shh' motion. He was trying to convey that they weren't alone in the Old Mansion, so they needed to keep silent.

Moo noticed Liam signalling to him as he reached the top left hand floor; he gave a slight nod as he crouched down onto all fours to spread his weight evenly. Creeping along the landing Moo began to pick up a conversation from inside the room in front of Liam whom Moo was now stood behind. Moo quietly listen as his right ear slightly stretched upwards, his ears could just make out what they were saying due to the mixture of wind whistling through the open door.

"Well.." Elfie looked around the room, "I was observing these pictures to see if maybe the little girl that stayed here before had left any answers. But.." Elfie sighed and walked over to one of the walls and took hold of one of the pictures lightly, being careful not to rip it down from the wall. "..there is nothing I have found but colorful lines and scribbled faces on them. Sure, they are information alone, but.." Elfie let out a very heavy sigh and let the picture escape from her grasp, letting it fall back to it's original place. "I was hoping she would have left just something.. Anything apart from just the pictures.."
She walked around the room and past the door before moving over towards the window and looking out to the dark courtyard infront of the mansion. "There's got to be some kind of information here, my research couldn't just leave me at a dead end, I'm sure of it." Elfie turned back around to Xunxeus. "Did you find any other information whilst you were figuring your way about? The corridor of darkness is a pain unfortunately, but you will get used to it in time."

"Not much really, I ran into two damn keybladers on the way here." he said in a distracted manner. Pulling the door closed, he gave a Shhh sign to Elfie. "I think We're not the only one here." he said in a quiet voice. "Did you get everything you needed?" He asked quickly, keeping his hand tight on the doorknob.

Liam saw the door to the room close, and as he turned to Moo and was about to ask him what he might've heard, there was a muffled murmur from behind the door. He reacted quickly: he couldn't be sure what might happen if the two of them were caught in the open without warning. They were exposed while standing out on the landing, so Liam reached for the door they were crouching right next to and hoped it didn't creak very loudly. It did, but not as loudly as he thought: maybe no one in that room heard it, since it was certainly soft enough.
He was really counting on the room's occupants not hearing it.
"Moo," Liam said in a low whisper, "We need to slip into this room, otherwise we'll be seen if anyone comes out."
Just so long as no one plans on coming in, that is. Let's just hope we're lucky.

As the door closed Moo slowly turned to look at Liam who was already looking at him, Moo was just about to repeat what he had heard from the convocation behind the door before Moo’s ear twitched. A muffled voice pushed out from the other side of the door. Moo looked around before hearing his name; he turned around to see Liam holding open a door. After Liam had explained what to do Moo gave a nod and slipped through the small gap in the doorway into the room. The room was very dark the only light source coming from the door itself Moo stood there looking at the old stone wall before the light began to thin before disappearing completely.

(OCC: sorry I know I’m not being all that descriptive ATM)

So yeah, Liam and Moo are now in an empty room next to Namine's old room. In the dark. Since there weren't any windows in this particular room, and the only light source was the luminescent glow from the foyer area.
"So uh, Moo," Liam said quietly, turning his head toward his young(er) companion, "Any chance you know of a secret passage-way that'll lead us out of this mansion and away from any sort of contrived confrontation with whoever's in the next room? That vital information would be pretty handy right about now."
He really wasn't counting on an easy way out of their sticky situation, but a man could hope with as much genre savvy as he was unwittingly given by one of the narrators. The term "knicking the fourth wall" comes to mind right about now.

Elfie sighed quietly. "I knew some keybladers would interrupt at some point."
Elfie looked at her notebook quickly, scanning her information.
"I think I've got everything for now. I will come back some other time if I have anything missing." Elfie closed her notebook and put it in the inside of her jacket. "If we're being followed or listened to, I think we should go."

Moo placed his thumb on his chin and used his finger to rub under his bottom lip, his head tilted down slightly. “umm...” Moo whispered before shaking his head “Nope, only entrance I know is the front door.” He looked at Liam before his left ear pricked up forcing his attention to the door to Namine’s old room which could just be seen through the crack of the door, “i can hear talking.” Moo placed his ear up against the wall carefully as to not make any noise.

"You can go, I have something to investigate.." Xunxeus said in a solemn, quiet tone. Opening the door, he exited the old room to enter the foyer. A sharp sting in his head arose as he passed by the door Liam and Moo had passed through. He stood facing the door, his hands at his side. "Come out now, I won't hurt you if you come out unarmed" He said in a loud manner, hoping to use it to scare whatever was in the closet to coming out. He had never know for sure if something was really following him and Elfie, but he was certain if it was there, there was something unique about it.

Liam swore under his breath when he heard someone address them from the other side of the door: the two of them were caught now, with no escape route to avoid a confrontation. He looked over at Moo and tightened his grip on the Struggle bat, trying to think of a plan. There was no way of telling whether or not coming out of the room would be a good plan: there was something on the other side that seemed... unnatural. But it wasn't at the same time. Liam wasn't sure what to make of it, but he was sure now that it wasn't just him feeling uneasy. It was just plain weird.
After a few moments of an inner monologue, Liam leaned forward and whispered something in Moo's ear.
"Maybe we can surprise them, get an edge. Here, move over."
He took a hold of the door knob: since the door swung into the landing, Liam hoped he wouldn't hit whomever was there. Or maybe he should, but that'd be ridiculous.
"On the count of three."
One finger up. Two up...

Moo listened to the convocation in the next room for a few minutes before the shout of a man behind the door caused him to jump back from the wall. Moo looked at the door his tail was stiff as it pointed to the ceiling, he watched Liam walk over to him and whisper in his ear. He nodded as his tail relaxed and drooped, he followed Liam to the door and he watched him swing it open with some force. The two were still shrouded in the shadows with Moo stood behind Liam in a ‘ready to rush’ stance. Moo watched with anticipation as Liam raised his first finger, he began to struggle to keep his breathing quiet as Liam raised the second finger. Moo watched Liam’s hand carefully awaiting the go signal, suddenly Moo noticed something and placed his hand quickly on Liam’s shoulder before leaning to his ear, “I heard two voices in the other room, and if one of them is at the door then the other will be in the other room. I say seeing as you are armed you take the one outside and when the coast is clear I’ll rush the room and take the other one by surprise.”

Liam considered the idea: if it turns out it wasn't anyone harmless, he'd just apologize and try to make up for it. If it wasn't... Well, then he shouldn't dwell on it much. Without waiting to reply, Liam immediately threw open the door and quickly jabbed the Struggle bat forward with a hand, all in one fluid motion as he yelled loudly. He didn't even stop to see who might have been standing there, but he was already just about in contact with the person's abdomen area: he honestly wouldn't be surprised if he managed to catch the person off guard (if that were even possible) with how everything seemed to unfold all at once.

A short burst of wind was created between the struggle bat's tip and his stomach to soften the blow. Xunxeus gently grabbed a hold on the bat, staring down at the boy who had attempted to attack him. Staring at the two who were in the closet, he gave a soft sigh. "Hmmn...Get going you two, there's awfully dangerous ghosts in this mansion." He said in a solemn manner, letting go of the bat. With one swift motion, he jumped off the second floor of the foyer, and landed in the middle of the room, quickly running out through the front of the mansion.

Moo stood in a crouched ready stance as he watched Liam force himself through the door; a black-cloaked hooded figure was on the receiving end of Liam’s strike. Moo was just about to rush into the strange character when he noticed Liam’s bat in the person’s hand, Moo hesitating to think and looked at the stranger as he spoke, once he had jumped off the edge of the corridor and into the main foyer Moo ran to wards the door and with one grate leap soared over Liam’s body whilst in the middle of a forward somersault his tail flowing behind him slowly following the rotation of his body. Moo Landed on his feet and one hand his tail raised into the air as he absorbed the impact of landing pushing his weight to the right ran towards the door, he thrust his shoulder into the ajar wooden door forcing it open as he stumbled inside. Moo regained his balance and looked over to the hooded figure holding what looked like a notebook “Who are you?” Moo asked assertively.

Liam silently berated himself for letting his weapon be easily handled by his target.
During the brief moment when the stranger was staring down at the two of them, he couldn't help but feel like the man was boring his gaze into them as though he were trying to find something out of place between the two of them.
As though one of them weren't exactly human.
Oh, right. Moo.
When the other man let go of the Struggle bat, Liam started to wonder why his threat wasn't going to be held up.
Not that he was complaining.
Wait.
"What's a ghost-?"
He was surprised to see the cloaked man leap back over the railing and into the foyer on the first floor. (After the second surprise of having Moo somersault over his head), Liam went up to the railing to see if the man injured himself somehow, only to find that the unnamed figure was already heading for the door.
"Hey, stop for a second," Liam called out after the retreating man. With a little hesitation, he himself climbed up over the railing and carefully dropped himself down, letting Moo do whatever it was he was doing to go after the cloaked man.
Everyone's suddenly pulling stunts that would give anyone a hernia, Liam thought as he gave chase.

Xunxeus was now at the gates by the time Liam chased him down. Seeing the other boy wasn't with him, he decided to stop at the gate, keeping face forward. "What do you want?" He asked in a loud manner, dropping his hands to his sides.
